Changing Drive Belt on Cub Cadet LT 1050 Question
Apr 13, · How to install a new drive belt on the Cub Cadet kristinfrey.com careful when ordering a belt because there is a LTX KH, KW and a VT model. Aug 27, · Replacing drive belt on Cub Cadet LTX
Hi, Just bought my first Cub Cadet. It is a LT I am rebuilding deck so it is off mower and trying to change drive belt. The videos I watched on you tube all removed the PTO assembly before replacing the drive belt. Does how to do latch hook hair have to be removed? I read in one post where the wiring just had to be unplugged but not removed. One more question. On all the other mowers I have owned the steering column had to be disconnected, but no mention of this in either video.
Can the drive belt be replaced by just disconnecting wire to PTO? Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.

Pinch off fuel line near engine. Lay over tractor so the gas cap is highest point. Removed engine V pulley, if will not slide down bend the three belt retainers away from V pulley.
Do not damage V pulley! Removed old belt and install the new belt. One thing, ltz the two idler v pulleys bearings as they do go dry after four years or so. After deck and battery is out, it should not take over 15 mins to install with proper tools. Deerlane said:. SARG Member. Joined Jul 13, Threads 2 Messages Just a couple comments. Tipping the tractor over will create more problems than the shortcut is worth. I changed the drive belt on a Husky 105 thirty minutes yesterday start to finish using a tractor lift.

Can the PTO be removed without an impact wrench? Thanks again Doug. Drive belt replaced. Complete deck rebuild, new spindle assemblies, new pulleys, new deck wheels, new blades.

When the belt failed it took out the hydro fan and busted a spring on the idler pulley bracket. The spring is pc 15 on the drive system pictorial. I can see where one end of the spring anchors on the bracket but I don't know where the other end of the spring attaches.
Does it connect to the PTO? I have the diagram for routing the drive belt but I'm not sure how the belt routs underneath the steering support bracket. Does the belt go to one side of the steering wheel shaft or does the steering wheel shaft need to be disconnected to allow the belt to be routed around it? JMO but I think the idiots who designed this should be made to change the belt whenever one breaks.

Put the belt on the drive pulley first, then the hydro pulley then the rest. As far as the spring, I assume you found where it goes on the arm??? The other end you might just have to look for a wear spot on the frame or other I agree with you opinion of train drivers though I spent an hour simply changing out a starter solenoid likely the most common electrical part to fail in this industry because it was buried beneath the sub frame of the steering column There is a reason they don't send the train drivers to the Technical update classes.

I saved the maintenance instructions that you linked. Hopefully I'll never have to use them. Good deal, and yes save that pdf, otherwise if you need it you would have to pay as it is meant for certified service If you haven't looked through it you should, it is very detailed with good pics and shows the springs and where and how they are attached.
